Bob Cousy วันเกิด วันเดือนปีเกิด
Robert Joseph Cousy, dit Bob Cousy, né le à New York, est un joueur américain de basket-ball. Surnommé « Cooz », il joue l’essentiel de sa carrière dans les années 1950 au sein des Celtics de Boston. Ambidextre, il est le meneur de la franchise pendant une grande partie de sa suprématie sur la National Basketball Association (NBA).
Durant sa carrière universitaire, Bob Cousy est élu à trois reprises All-American. Sélectionné en troisième position de la draft 1950 par les Tri-Cities Blackhawks, il ne doit son destin avec les Celtics de Boston de Red Auerbach qu'à un tirage au sort. Meneur spectaculaire d'une équipe évoluant principalement en contre-attaque, Cousy dispute sept finales NBA consécutives, de 1957 à 1963, et remporte six titres en 1957 puis de 1959 à 1963.
Après avoir mis un terme à sa carrière de joueur, Bob Cousy devient entraîneur de l'équipe de basket-ball du Boston College. Il reste six saisons dans l'encadrement des Eagles de Boston College avant de revenir en NBA à la tête des Royals de Cincinnati. Cousy effectue un bref retour sur les terrains comme joueur pour améliorer les ventes de billets de la franchise.
À titre individuel, Bob Cousy termine à dix reprises dans le premier cinq de la NBA et deux fois dans le deuxième cinq. Nommé NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) en 1957, il remporte également cette saison-là son second titre de MVP du All-Star Game après celui de 1954. Cousy participe d'ailleurs à tous les NBA All-Star Game durant sa carrière de joueur. Pour le cinquantenaire de la NBA, il est inscrit sur la liste des meilleurs joueurs établie à cette occasion.
